Comment of the Week: "Sell that ish to someone who'll take care of it."

Check out the best, funniest, strangest and most informative things our readers have to say.

We take pride in our work here at Patch and always strive to bring our readers interesting news. However, we must admit, sometimes the most interesting part of a great Patch story is the comments from readers that it sparks.

Here are some of the best, funniest, strangest and most informative comments from Patch stories around the Northeast L.A. and Hollywood Patch sites this past week:

Patch editor Ajay Singh reported the stained-glass windows of the historic Highland Park Masonic Building were replaced with regular window panes. The building's owner told Singh the stained glass windows were falling a part and were too costly to replace.
Commenters generally felt that the owner made the wrong decision. Reader kdr wins the Comment of the Week award for being frank in summing up his thoughts.

No regard for aesthetics. Typical HLP mentality of old. It's neglectful, penniless property owners like Mr. Cruz that caused the apparently maligned surge of gentrification in HLP. Can't hang in with the up-trend? Sell that ish to someone who'll take care of it.

Across East L.A. Patch sites this week we pointed out the presence or void of hipsters in the neighborhood according to a Yelp map.
Some readers pointed the inaccuracy of the maps, debated the definition of a hipster and their contributions to the community.

Reader Omar A. Gonzalez writes hipsters are good for Eagle Rock. He observed some are opening businesses and buying real estate. Agree or disagree? Join in the discussion.

The term "hipster" was created by the wannabes, anyone who is considered "hip" most likely would not call themselves that society might label them that and that's fine, but I'm pretty sure you'd be hard pressed to find a so called hipster calling themselves that. Don't get it confused, if there are young Entrepanuers opening business's, young families buying real estate and changing the make up of our community it's a good thing, not a snobby thing like some tend to tie it to the lame "hipster" term. Bring on the changes to Eagle Rock, long time residents do like it!

The Opinion Board is a place that readers can sound off on, well, just about anything they like. We also have an Announcement Board, Buy/Sell/Trade and Business Updates. If you see a topic of interest hit the boards and share your thoughts! Here are some interesting Board posts:
Can someone give me an objective perspective on current gang activity in the neighborhood? Are there certain areas unsafe during the day to walk around with a toddler? I see so many conflicting reports about [Highland Park]. Thanks!

What happened?  Why did all the construction come to a screeching halt? Anyone know?
