Kat Bee, Neighbor

Kat is a Silver Lake-based writer/journalist originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a BFA from the University of Southern California and is currently back at USC working towards an MA in Specialized Journalism with an emphasis in Arts Criticism; her thesis will focus on underground music communities and the Los Angeles music scene, both past and present.

In addition to her writing, Kat is a co-founder of local DIY record label, Kill/Hurt. The label and its releases have been featured on NPR and in the Los Angeles Times.

She enjoys record hoarding, kittens, bass playing, craft beers and some other things, too.
