Jasmyne Cannick is a media relation’s specialist who currently develops, executes, and oversees the communications strategies for a roster of who’s who elected officials at all levels of government as well as for local and state issue based campaigns. Selected as one of ESSENCE Magazine’s 25 Women Shaping the World, Jasmyne, has worked at multiple levels of government including the California Legislature for the Chair of the Black Caucus and in the House of Representatives. When she’s not politicking, Ms. Cannick has cultivated a national following for telling it like it is through her work as a commentator on race, sex, and political issues. She has won numerous awards for her work on the intersection of pop culture, race, class, and politics and is a frequent guest on CNN, FOX News, BET, and TV One’s Access Hollywood. A voice to be reckoned with, Jasmyne has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun Times, Los Angeles Daily News, and Ebony Magazine to name a few and her syndicated column appears in Black newspapers from coast to coast. She is the past co-anchor of the evening news on Los Angeles Pacifica radio station 90.7FM and has served as a segment producer on KJLH-FM’s Front Page show. A SoCal native by way of Compton and Hermosa Beach, in her spare time Jasmyne enjoys hiking and tennis.
