Here are five things to start off your week in Echo Park and Silver Lake:

  1. The Echo Park Neighborhood Council will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at the Sandra Cisneros Learning Academy Auditorium, 1018 Mohawk Street. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. 
  2. Police continue to investigate the shooting death of Joseph Gatto, father of California Assemblyman Mike Gatto in his Silver Lake home. On Friday, Gatto's death was officially ruled a homicide
  3. Yoga Echo Park will continue its free classes held in Echo Park this week. For more information, check out their event listing here
  4. Tucked between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is the lesser-known Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. Ahead of the day, we want to know, where do you shop small in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach? Let us know here in the comments.
