Drive Thru Donations for Japan Accepted All Day at Dodger Stadium

Donors who put down $20 or more will get two free tickets to an exhibition game at Dodger Stadium.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and NBC LA will hold a "drive-through" relief event at Dodger Stadium Tuesday to benefit efforts by the American Red Cross to assist Japan's earthquake and tsunami victims.

Dodger alumni Bobby Castillo, Kenny Landreaux, Rudy Law, Al Ferrara, Jimmy Campanis and Derrel Thomas and NBC LA on-air personalities will be dropping by the stadium's Parking Lot 1 starting at 5 a.m.to take donations.

Proceedings will continue until 7 p.m.

Donors who give $20 or more will each receive two tickets to an upcoming spring training exhibition game at Dodger Stadium.

Monetary donations of cash and checks will be accepted. Checks should be made out to "American Red Cross" with “Japan Tsunami Fund” in the memo line.

The easiest entrance to Lot 1 is through Gate A just above the junction of Sunset Boulevard and Elysian Park Avenue. 

According to Dodger press materials the team has a long-standing history with Japan dating back to Brooklyn days.

Currently pitcher Hiroki Kuroda hails from Japan.  The Dodgers say nine members of the front office are also originally from Japan.
