Clothing Drive, Lupe Fiasco Set for Perform at Dodger Game

On-field musical entertainment will begin at 3 p.m. and also include a performance by the Latino alternative rock group La Santa Cecilia, who won the 2014 Grammy for best Latin rock, urban or alternative album.

A clothing drive benefiting San Cristobal, Dominican Republic will be held at today's Los Angeles Dodgers-San Francisco Giants game at Dodger Stadium, along with separate pregame performances by rapper Lupe Fiasco and fellow Grammy winners La Santa Cecilia.

San Cristobal Mayor Raul Mondesi, who played for the Dodgers from 1993- 99, will accept donations of gently worn clothing during the Viva Los Dodgers festival that begins at 3 p.m. Mondesi will also sign autographs. Fans bringing a donation will be placed in a priority line for autographs.

Dodger coach Manny Mota will also sign autographs during Viva Los Dodgers in connection with Dominican Heritage Day.

Fiasco, who won the 2007 best urban/alternative performance Grammy with Jill Scott for "Daydreamin'," will perform at 4:40 p.m.

The national anthem will be performed by Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

Television personality Mary Hart will be the honorary public address announcer.

Former Dodger outfielders Tommy Davis and Al "The Bull" Ferrara will sign autographs in the left and field pavilion plaza areas before the game.

The Veteran of the Game will be Air Force Master Sgt. Karie Nielson of San Dimas, the superintendent of the Military Personnel Section of the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo.

Nielson enlisted in 1996 and has served numerous base deployments stateside and overseas to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Kabul, Afghanistan. Her honors include a Bronze Star for exceptional meritorious service while deployed in Afghanistan.

All auto and stadium gates will open at 3 p.m. for the 5 p.m. game.

A limited number of tickets remained for the game as of late Saturday afternoon, according to a team official.
