Echo Park Has Strong Literary Tradition
LA826-Echo Park builds on a long literary tradition in Echo Park and environs: Anais Nin, Theodore Sturgeon, Amy Gerstler, Benjamin Weisman, Elizabeth Stromme, Jonathan Lethem, Ixta Maya Murray, Brandon Skyhorse, Michael Connelly, D.L. Haney, Janet Fitch. for example.
They moved here -- or visited here -- from far away locales. The nonprofit 826LA, instead, is here to help EP build more of its writers from the hood on up.
