Want to Run for Silver Lake Neighborhood Council?

The SLNC Elections Outreach Committee holds its first meeting Friday at Pull My Daisy.

 

The several neighborhood councils serving Echo Park, Silver Lake and Los Feliz will all hold elections Oct. 6.

Candidates can't file until Aug. 7, but already some councils are doing outreach.

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council holds the first of likely weekly outreach meetings Friday at 6:30 p.m. at at 3908 Sunset Blvd.

Many had wanted to delay

But others argued that such a delay would defeat a stated purpose of the councils--to bring in new people.

Some, including SLNC Vice Chair Charles Herman-Wurmfeld, hope to host a series of candidates' forums before the Oct. 6 voting at Micheltorena Elementary School.
