VIDEO: Actress Salma Hayek Gives Eric Garcetti Another Thumbs Up

In a video released Thursday, the Mexican-born actress says the mayoral candidate and city councilman can overcome any problem and bring people together.

“Eric Garcetti is one of those people that think that anything is possible," says actress Salma Hayek in a video released Thursday.

That's the apparent moral of the story she spends much of the video telling.

Hayek also says Garcetti will bring people together and points to the "amazing transformation" he has worked in Hollywood.

Earlier this week the Garcetti campaign released two other videos featuring Hayek, one in English, another in Spanish.

In those videos, Hayek praised Garcetti's dancing, gardening, linguistic skills--and vouched for him despite his political ambitions.

The Garcetti campaign pushed its Hollywood endorsements hard this week and released a full list of entertainment industry endorsers.

Jimmy Kimmel, Will Ferrell and Moby will also headline a benefit for Garcetti next Thursday at the Ford Theater in Hollywood.

DJs Myles Hendrik, Ana Calderon, Timothy Norwind (of OK Go) and Chris Holmes will also be mixing.

As we noted in an earlier piece, Garcetti has some Hollywood catching up to do.

City Controller Wendy Greuel, his main competition in the race, has already snagged some very significant endorsements from Hollywood types.

Greuel worked for a number of years as an executive at Dreamworks Entertainment.
