Who Should Be EP's Person of the Year?

If you know someone who helped make Echo Park or Silver Lake a better place, nominate them.

Know someone who just seems to be everywhere, contributing time and effort and energy?

Or, maybe you know someone who did a fabulous one-off that changed the local conversation for good?

They could be our first Echo Park and Silver Lake person of the year.

Give us your nominations in the comments section below or at anthea.raymond@patch.com.

Include why you think they should get our honor.

You might also mention the groups they're involved with and who you are.

We'd prefer no anonymous nominations.

You can even upload their picture to this article too.

Make those nominations by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19.

Then we'll be back at you with a chance to vote.

The winner will be profiled on the site, get a Patch T-shirt, and another special surprise.

I know we have lots of great people in Echo Park and Silver Lake--and a long history of public service and volunteerism--so get nominating.

Who knows we might even pick two--one from Echo Park and one from Silver Lake.
