L.A. Uprising: A Son Reflects from Parker Center

April 29, 2012 is the official 20th anniversary of the events some call the L.A. Riots. All week, we feature your memories memories of that city-changing event. Media artist David Leonard--who grew up in Echo Park--is featured today.

Twenty years after the L.A. Riots, media artist David Leonard reflects on the three-day civil unrest and the time he went out to cover it with his father, photographer Gary Leonard.

Watch video above.

On April 29 from 12 to 5 p.m., the pair will display works as part of a show titled, “Parker Center,” at the Take My Picture gallery in Downtown Los Angeles, located at 860 S. Broadway at the intersection of 9th.
