It's "part parade, part tour, part performance art."
That's how organizers describe Sunday's "Dapper Day on the Subway."
Organized by Rail LA, the event will bring riders in evening attire to various historic locations for special events all day.
The riders will gather at the Hollywood and Vine Red Line station at 9:30 a.m. They'll make their first stop at Los Feliz's Barnsdall Park around 10 a.m.
Admission will be $7 for full and free access to the historic gallery: no guided tours, but instead a rare chance to wander the galleries freely.
Public transit will spirit the riders to Olvera Street, Union Station, Angels Flight and Chinatown later in the day as well.
Participants must ride the subway and possess a $5 All Day Pass.
