Former Opponents Endorse Finalists in LA City Council District 13 Race

Will Eric Garcetti, who currently holds the seat, make his choice known any time soon?

We cover a very small slice of the election beat in our little Echo Park-Silver Lake Patch.

But sometimes we think endorsements are important.

Two of note came Mitch O'Farrell's way over the weekend-- from Sam Kbushyan, who finished third in the Los Angeles City Council District 13 primary, and from Josh Post, who finished fifth.

Last week, Matt Szabo gave O'Farrell's opponent John Choi the thumbs up.

The other candidates in the 12 man primary are lingering, and we wonder where they will touch down.

But we also have another very important subject on our minds, Eric Garcetti, who just last week got fellow councilmember Tom LaBonge's endorsement in his bid for mayor.

Many in Echo Park are waiting to see where he'll land on this subject--or if he will land at all.

O'Farrell, who worked for him for nine years in the CD13 office, often mentions his time working for Garcetti.

And both O'Farrell and Garcetti have now been endorsed by LaBonge.

The three also looked very friendly the other day on the Silver Lake Meadow, where LaBonge endorsed his announcement.

Tell us what you think: will Eric Garcetti endorse anyone? Who will it be?
