Police say they responded to a shooting call around 5:08 a.m. on Aug. 7 at the intersection of Silver Lake Blvd. and Scott Place. Officers say when they arrived, they found Loma suffering from a gun shot wound to his head while seated in a car.
Loma was transported to USC Medical Center, declared brain dead and placed on life support until his family arrived from Mexico. One of Loma’s employers, Melanie Tusquellas of El Chavo Restaurant, said that his family requested his organs be donated.
