Rampart Crime Report: Dec. 27-Dec. 28, 2012

Report includes a gang-related assault involving a revolver on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 11 p.m. at Benton Way and Sunset Boulevard.

The attached crime map is provided to us by the LAPD's Rampart Division, responsible for law enforcement in a significant part of Echo Park, Silver Lake and Los Feliz.

(LAPD's Northeast covers the northern section up to the 5 Freeway and into Atwater.)

The map provides data on all crimes for which a report was filed that occurred in Rampart coverage so far this week.

The most recent reported crimes, occurring between between midnight Thursday,  Dec. 27 and Friday, Dec. 28 at 4 a.m., are highlighted with text detail and a line pointing to their locations.

Most significantly, the report inclues a gang-related aggravated assault (AGG) involving a revolver at Benton Way and Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake at 11 p.m.

We are working on get more details from the Watch Commander on duty at that time.

There was also an assault involving a handgun at Beverly Boulevard and Occidental in Historic Filipinotown Thursday at about 2:15 p.m.

Several thefts from vehicles also were of note.

At 3:30 a.m. on Thursday a camera and a GPS were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of North Alvarado Street in Echo Park. 

A cellphone was taken from a car that same morning around 2 a.m. in the 1700 block of Sunset Boulevard, also in Echo Park.
