They'd been expected to arrive, but are having visa problems.

According to Tusquellas, "Nothing will progress until his Mom and Aunt arrive to meet with doctors and make some decisions."

Meantime, El Chavo and Garage Pizza, where Juan David worked a second job, have set up a fund to help with medical and bereavement expenses.

Contributions to the fund can be made at any Citibank branch or at El Chavo at 4441 Sunset Blvd. or at Garage Pizza at 4339 Sunset Boulevard.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to please call Northeast homicide detectives at (213) 847-4261.

Edit: an earlier version of this story stated that Juan David was 25-years-old. He was 20-years-old. Patch regrets the error.
