Laptop, Headphones Stolen at Gunpoint on Hoover Street in Silver Lake

A local resident was sitting outside when two men in masks came from around the corner to commit the robbery Tuesday evening.

A man was robbed a gunpoint Tuesday night at approximately 11:05 p.m. in Silver Lake.

He was sitting on the steps with his laptop at the triangle formed where North Hoover Street and Lucile Avenue intersect when he was accosted.

According to the man, two men ran down Lucille Avenue, with masks and scarfs disguising their faces.

One held a gun to his forehead as the robbers took the man's laptop and headphones.

They ran back up Lucile.

An LAPD helicopter briefly combed the area overhead, but no one was taken into custody.

The man told us it was difficult to provide much of a description of the two robbers because of their masks and scarves.

According to Rampart's crime map for Tuesday, Jan. 22, Rampart also made an arrest earlier that evening at Alvarado Street and Sunset after someone was robbed.

A "cutting instrument" was used as the weapon in this case.
