LAPD Shoot Man Allegedly Armed with Knife in East Hollywood

LAPD Commander Dennis Kato told reporters at the scene that a Taser was used on the man prior to him being shot.

A man allegedly armed with a knife was killed in an officer-involved shooting in East Hollywood, but no officers were injured, police said.

It happened about 3:45 p.m., Sunday at the intersection of Sunset and Hobart boulevards, said Officer Sally Madera of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect was struck by police gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene, she said.
