Fire Hits Dodger Stadium for Second Time This Weekend

This blaze was in the same storage room that caught fire Saturday.

Firefighters visited Dodger Stadium for the second time this weekend to snuff out Monday morning flames in a storage room at the stadium – the same one that housed flaming paper products on Saturday.

The fire was reported around 5 a.m. and put out shortly after, said Erik Scott, spokesman for the Fire Department.

"It appears to be a smoldering fire from the previous fire," he added. "Again, it was paper goods and some other products."

The Saturday fire took place during a game against the Florida Marlins, in the same upper deck, 20-by-20 foot storage room. It was knocked down by a force of 41 firefighters in 20 minutes. Play was not stopped, and gas-powered blowers directed smoke away from the fans, and no formal evacuation was needed, Scott said. Scenes and color from the first fire were reported on The Eastsider L.A.

The cause of the fire is still under active investigation.
