Body Parts Found Off Hiking Trail Near Bronson Canyon

The LAPD is using dogs to search for more remains.

Two women made a gruesome discovery about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday as a they hiked near Bronson Canyon and the Hollywood sign: a head in a bag.

According to LAPD spokesperson Karen Rayner, the incident is being investigated as a possible homicide.

City News Service says that police dogs were brought to the scene above the 3200 block of Canyon Drive to search for further remains.

According to ABC7, the head appeared to be relatively fresh. 

ABC7 is also said to have reported that a dog initially discovered the remains.
