Body Found in Trash Container Identified

Authorities Thursday identified a man whose body was found in a trash container outside an apartment building in the East Hollywood area.

Investigators responded about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to Santa Monica Boulevard and Mariposa Avenue, Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The dead man, found by the building manager, was identified as 33-year- old Richard Michael Ramirez, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

A man was questioned in connection with the death, and the investigation was continuing.
