Your Patch: 12 Most 'Viewed' Stories of 2012

We take our tragedies to heart in Echo Park-Silver Lake-Los Feliz. And this year four heart-breaking deaths were among our most "clicked on" postings.

Catherine Davis, Ivan Pedroza, Dick DeRusha and Bree'anaa Guzman.

The lady landlord, the Marshall athlete, the legendary hiker, the Boyle Heights mother--three possible murders, one accidental death.

Echo Park-Silver Lake Patch readers were gripped by their stories this year, putting reportage about them on our list of the 12 most "clicked on" stories in 2012.

Each, in its own way, was emblematic of an aspect of our diverse neighborhoods and our own vulnerabilities as residents within them. And we responded deeply--your editor included.

(See the comments following the articles about Ivan Pedroza if you don't believe it.)

Several search-engine friendly stories also found a place in the mix: actor Eric Stonestreet's ejection from Dodger Stadium, the return of the "Fast and Furious" crew to Angeleno Heights and, of course, the run up to a particularly winning lottery.

But it was people we knew-- and knew of and loved--that really captured our hearts and minds this year.

Here's the complete list of our most trafficked stories of the year. Tell us what you think of the rankings.

We'll be following up with our own list of favorite stories, so look for that tomorrow.
