Mega-diva Jenifer Lewis hit the web this week with a series about the ins and outs of show business called "Jenifer Lewis and Shangela."
Lewis mentors L.A.-newcomer Shangela Wadley (of "RuPaul's Drag Race") as she pursues a career in reality television.
In the series--as in real life--Shangela (actor D.J. Pierce) lives in the basement of Lewis's Studio City house.
Three episodes were co-written by Silver Lake father Mark Alton Brown (Girlfriends, Designing Women)with Dee La Duke. (You can view the first above.)
Brown, the son of a civil rights attorney, attended Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, with Lewis.
He has written over 60 one-woman shows for Lewis as well as her mock documentary "Jackie's Back."
Brown is married to actor Bob Cesario, who is featured in the next episode of "Jenifer Lewis and Shangela."
His daughter, Ella, and son, Sander, both attend Sequoyah School in Pasadena.
Jenifer Lewis is their godmother.
"One of her favorite places to eat is on Sunset and she loves to hike with the kids in Elysian Park," Brown told us in an e-mail.
