One person was sent to the hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the ankle Sunday night.
The shooting took place in the 700 block of North Vendome Street in Silver Lake around 8:30 p.m.
The 700 block along Vendome south of Sunset has a history of gang-related shootings, most notably involving the Silver Lake 13 gang.
But it is not known if this incident is gang-related said Lt. Wesley Buhrmeister of the LAPD's Rampart Division
It is believed only two individuals were involved in the incident, said Lieutenant Theresa Coyle also of the Rampart Division.
According to information gathered from people in the area, there reportedly was no argument, or confrontation prior to the shooting, nor did anybody witness the incident, Coyle said.
A passerby in the area notified authorities to the shooting. Police arrived and the young man was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
