Blog: Social Justice Activist Paul Kivel to Speak in Echo Park

Noted author, educator and social justice activist Paul Kivel will speak in Echo Park on raising boys to men.

Echo Parenting & Education is excited to bring noted author, educator and social justice activist Paul Kivel to Los Angeles to speak on how to raise our sons to become leaders in building communities that value compassion, justice and sustainability. Get the flyer here.

Young people today face a world of ever-increasing complexity, alienation, and violence. Engaged and compassionate adults can give young people the skills and support they need to take on leadership roles within their schools and neighborhoods to promote nonviolence and social justice in their communities. Setting compassion and respect for human dignity as the highest priority, especially in how we address the challenges facing our youth, will allow us to establish real change in terms of the systemic racial, gender and economic injustices.

From Kivel's website: "Kivel has been an innovative leader in violence prevention for more than 35 years. He is an accomplished trainer and speaker on men’s issues, racism and diversity, challenges of youth, teen dating and family violence, raising boys to manhood, and the impact of class and power on daily life.
