Aspiring absentee voters in the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council election must also upload a scanned copy of some evidence of stakeholdership.

Silver Lake and Greater Echo Park Elysian are the only neighborhood councils in Region 7 that chose to offer the absentee voting option, according to Stephen Box, elections coordinator for the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, which oversees L.A.'s 96 neighborhood councils.

The following six neighborhood councils in the East Region (Region 7) will hold elections on Oct. 6:

Greater Griffith Park

Silver Lake

Rampart Village

Greater Echo Park Elysian

Atwater Village

Elysian Valley Riverside

Candidates have until midnight Thursday to file at the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment website.

Thanks for keeping the community updated, Anthea. There is absolutely no mention of the elections on the nc website (gepenc.org.) This group should be ashamed of themselves.
