Summer Film Classes to Be Offered at the Echo Park Film Center

The workshops are scheduled to take place in June.

The Echo Park Film Center will be offering a variety of classes this June sure to please any budding filmmaker.

An Introduction to Final Cut Pro Seven will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. Students will learn the basics of the digital editing program that is an industry standard.

There will also be a free, all-day workshop called "Ambassadors of Coincidence," on Saturday, June 22.

"It's a collective Super Eight Film Project," said Rick Bahto, the Echo Park Film Center's operations manager. "A small group will go out to make a film as part of a scavenger hunt."

An Introduction to Super Eight Filmmaking and Hand-Processing Class has proven to be so popular that organizers are considering adding a second one, according to Bahto.
