The L.A. Weekly casts a critical eye on the Silver Lake restaurant scene in a new Top 10 list.

What is the best restaurant?

The L&E Oyster Bar on Silver Lake Boulevard wins out, with Virgil Street boutique Sqirl a close second.

(L&E recently completed its upstairs expansion, with Sqirl to expand to a second storefront over the summer. )

A number of Hyperion Avenue spots also make the list: Barbrix (5), the Fix Burger (6) and Speranza (10).

Forage (8) and Cliff's Edge are the only Sunset Junction area restaurants, which, notably, includes neither Cafe Stella nor Blossom.
