Update: EastsiderLA Down Again Thursday

Several people have confirmed that as late as 5:30 p.m. Thursday those visiting the site received an error message. Earlier in the week, the site was also down.

Update 8 p.m.:We finally heard from EastsiderLA guru Jesus Sanchez, who wrote that his site is migrating to a new webhost and that "it can take 24 hours before things [are] stabilized and then we can figure out if there are any repairs that need to be made. At least the email began working again!"

Sanchez said some users can see the site, while others can't. We'll check back again.

Earlier: Through much of Thursday afternoon, those visiting the site received an error message. This was confirmed by several readers. Echo Park Patch emailed the EastsiderLA for an update. We'll report what we find out.

Even Earlier: If you visited the EastsiderLA Tuesday afternoon, you'd see the usual home page replaced by an "account suspended" notice.

LAObserved reports that was due to what publisher Jesus Sanchez said was a "host moving him to a new box."

We speculate that it was the prolific and influential Sanchez taking a well-deserved rest.

Late last year he was honored for "Special Achievement in New Media" from the Society of Professional Journalists L.A. Chapter.

He'll be feted on May 8 at the Biltmore Hotel, along with folks like Bob Pool of the Los Angeles Times and Bob Fine, of the Los Angeles Business Journal.
