Video: 'The Hipster Games' Lampoons Silver Lake Denizens
A video parody of the hit movie The Hunger Games takes aim at the local variety of mockingjays.
The odds are ever in their favor.
Silver Lake hipsters we mean, at least judging by The Hipster Games, a locally shot parody of--dare we say tribute to?--the hit movie The Hunger Games, which aims its golden arrows at the squishy hearts of Silver Lake hipsters, LAist reports.
Representing District Silver Lake in the semi-annual Hipster Games are the appropriately-named Loch Ness Evergreen and Falafel Malarkey. With the help of fresh juice, freshly rolled cigs and freshly grown raw, vegan eats -- courtesy of Mother Earth -- the two seemingly triumph and later delight in a can of their favorite, L.A.-based brew, floated to them via parachute.
