Echo Park Library to Host Programs on Moby Dick

The Edendale Branch Library will be holding several free programs including a quintet and fiction contest to celebrate the work by Herman Melville.

The Los Angeles Public Library and Library Foundation of Los Angeles will be holding several free programs celebrating Moby Dick by Herman Melville during the month of September.

The Edendale Branch Library in Echo Park (2011 W. Sunset Blvd.) will be holding a concert with the Premiere Brass Quintet on Saturday, 9/7, 12 noon; a short fiction contest, in which participants will be invited to retell a portion of Moby Dick through the eyes of one of the characters described by Ishmael; a discussion of the book on Thursday, 9/5, 6:30 p.m.; film screenings on Mondays, 9/9 and 9/16, 5:30 p.m.; and origami sea animals for kids on Wednesday, 9/18, 4 p.m.
