A Brief Look at Safe Sex Video Shoot

Models attired in Andrew Christian underwear participate in the project done in collaboration with APLA and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

You could not miss the two men striding down Coronado Terrace toward a brightly painted bus nearby. The camera was rolling.

Turns out they were shooting a safe sex video, a collaboration between underwear designer Andrew Christian, AIDS Project Los Angeles and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

The location was an entry to the Dream Center near the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Coronado Terrace.

A number of underwear-only attired models were in a bus parked nearby, waiting to move to the next location.

The Dream Center was selected on the fly, as the bus drove by--unplanned, unpermitted, not that we mind here in Echo Park.

"We just liked the look of the doorway and the path," one of the crew members said.

An AIDS Project Los Angeles representative said APLA's safe sex videos are distributed on the Internet and receive a huge amount of traffic.

According to a marketing representative at the site, Andrew Christian will also distribute condoms with some of its briefs and shorts, which are popular with gay men.

Andrew Christian has its design studios and warehouse store in Glendale. Its flagship store is in West Hollywood.
