Five things to start off your day in Echo Park and Silver Lake.

Here are five things to start off your Thursday in Echo Park and Silver Lake:

  1. An "aggressive" investigation was under way today into the killing of Assemblyman Mike Gatto's 78-year-old father, who was shot during an apparent home-invasion robbery in Silver Lake. The body of Joseph Gatto was found by a woman believed to be his daughter at around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, slumped over a stool at a home in the 2800 block of Bright Lane.
  2. Tickets to the Los Angeles Kings-Anaheim Ducks game at Dodger Stadium will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 at Ticketmaster.com. About 20,000 tickets remain for the Jan. 25 game, the first NHL outdoor game to be played in California. Find out more here.
  3. Los Angeles' first ever "Mustache Dache" run will take place Sunday at Elysian Park to benefit the Movember charity. Organizers said the run is meant to raise awareness and money for men's health initiatives, prostate cancer and testicular cancer by supporting the month long Movember event.
