Groundbreaking Set for New Park at L.A. River's Glendale Narrows

Sunnynook Park has been in the works since 2008 as part of the plan to revitalize the natural bottom stretch of the slowly-recovering waterway.

A new park long-planned for the L.A. River will have its groundbreaking on July 25 at 8:30 a.m.

Sunnynook Park will occupy a 3.4 acre parcel on the west side of the river just above where the Hyperion Bridge links Atwater Village and Silver Lake.

It is just above the Red Car Park, created several years ago on the east side of the river.
