Blogger Disses Janet Jackson After Ride by EP's New PETA Office

The blog "Balance of Culture" gives the singer a hard time for her new fur fashion line.

A ride by the upcoming PETA headquarters in Echo Park prompted one blogger  to criticize Janet Jackson’s new fur line, Blackglama.

The new offices on Sunset near Alvarado are set to open imminently, noted the Eastsider LA last week.

With the obligatory “Nasty Ms. Jackson”  reference in the headline, “Balance of Culture” notes:

I can't be alone in thinking that this is absolutely the most awkwardly offensive time for anybody to start a fur line, even for somebody from music royalty … don't get me wrong, I love her music, and I remember her as very friendly when I met her at an event a few years back. It's just confusing and disappointing because there is so much high-quality faux alternatives now!!

We wondered today where the 60 or so employees PETA is expected to hire will eat.

Mohawk Bend, with its vegan menu, is conveniently located across the street.

Tell us in comments what their other mid-day, walkable eating options might be.

Thanks so much for linking to my blog post! Just wanted to clarify that the photo of the PETA headquarters is from Eastsider LA (mine was too blurry!).

@Linda-Thanks for the clarification. I see that you are linking through to the original Eastsider LA story, as do I. But could you also write the Eastsider credit somewhere on your blog post? Thanks.
