Echo Park tequila master Matthew S. Jaime is giving neighbors a reason to stay on this side of town this weekend that’s even better than “Carmageddon” – a good old fashioned pub crawl.

The Real de Mexico Tequila Crawl is hosted by the Echo Park company of the same name: it's been quietly providing local hot spots with family-produced, “single estate” tequila.

The complete walk won't more than a mile.

The , the first spot to serve Real de Mexico in Echo Park, will be the last stop on the crawl, assuming participants make it all the way through to the end.

Jaime told Patch through email that goal of the crawl, besides a good time, “is to bring more awareness to the local venues and nightlife here in Echo Park” thanks to a product with a home base of Echo Park.

“Each venue on our Tequila Crawl will have special prices for our guests and most will provide free appetizers,” Jaime noted of the event.
