Born in Israel, moved to Los Angeles in 1991. Yamit Shimonovitz has exhibited her photography in galleries and magazines such as the L.A. Weekly and Poison Ivy. Particularly notable for her painterly approach and innovative use of light, cinematography was the natural next step for this multi-talented artist. She received acclaim for her work as director of photography for "All Or Nothing" her first dramatic feature, which won the Jury Award at the Hollywood Black Film Festival.
