Immigration crisis? I think that is a "typo"....didn't you mean "invasion"? IRead More mean basically that is what has happened over the last 30 yrs...we are just sugar coating it to make us feel we are in control of the situation and we are not. But what do we expect Mexican nationals to do? Stay in a country where their whole family may be desimated by gun toting hired guns (paramilitary) in Mexico's? Of course not... we would all run for our lives also. We must use empathy if we are to remain a conscious people outside of whatever our government's actions and shortcomings maybe.....such as creating chaos in a country by sending paramilitary in order to take over the drug cartels...if our country was not full of drug intoxicated victims then Mexico would not have a problem. Now you know why our military has not been deployed to the border....bcause our boys would refuse the mission. So obviously we are relying on paramilitaries to do our dirty work. We should all be appalled at what is happening. Avi

Eric Garcetti's big priority is aiding and abetting illegal invaders of the US. He does thatRead More effectively. If you think rails matter to him, just look at the "Subway to the Sea". How much did that cost, and how did that work out? I'd love to hear his response, but I've heard his foul mouth. So I'd rather not hear anything from him.

After another baby dies after being left in a hot car, a mother recounts a mistake that might have cost her daughter's life.
susan July 12, 2014 at 11:59 am
You misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't saying that these people don't work. I was sayingRead More that many of them don't know this life until years after they've had their child, when it's too late to decide not to have children. I would never defend murder and I have said in a previous post that if this man did this intentionally then I have no concern for whatever punishment he gets. The worse the better. Let him die in a hot car would be my choice. That's up to the police to decide. If a parent loses a child through their own neglect then I would imagine that their pain is even worse. Not only do they suffer the terrible loss of the child, but yes, they will forever carry the enormous guilt and shame. I can not even imagine living with that guilt. You and your sister have not YET left a child in the car. I'm just curious though, if your sister did do this and lost her child, what would you want done to her? What about parents whose children have drowned in swimming pools? The point is this, those parents that clearly should have used birth control did NOT do so. So do you suggest that their children will just have to suffer and die because their parents are stupid and careless, or do you try to find a way to prevent the deaths? I am truly sorry for your loss.
RDJ July 12, 2014 at 02:45 pm
Funny thing susan....prevention starts before children are born. The best statement that I have everRead More heard about deciding on whether or not to have children was this..."I don't have kids because I am too selfish to have them. I want my career and I want to travel and I like my sleep so I know I wouldn't have time for a child. They don't fit into my schedule and they deserve to have a parent that is present and is willing to sacrifice for them." That Susan is a responsible person. The fact is that either you make sacrifices for the sake of your children or you sacrifice your children for the sake of your selfish needs. I nor my sister will not leave a child in the car because we are responsible parents. And the need for parenting classes or education is to make future parents aware of what to expect so they can make an informed decision on whether or not to have kids. If my sister left my niece in the car and she died I would want her to be charged for her negligence. And a child does not drown if they are being watched by an adult while near a pool. Unfortunately children do suffer because people are not responsible enough to either not have them or give them up when they realize they can't be responsible enough to parent. My life is hectic and stressful but my kids are always my first priority. And by the way being a pediatrician does not mean you know how to be a parent. It means you are able to medically treat a child. I can smell a liberal mind a mile away and you my dear susan reek of liberalism. I wonder if you have ever been held accountable for anything you did wrong because it seems like you are willing to overlook neglect because they are suffering from the loss of their child. I wonder....what exactly would you say if you left your child in the car and they died....anyone not wanting to get in trouble would say..."I forgot". Maybe us responsible parents can see through the BS because our kids really do come first in our lives. You people are so gullible and will believe any thing that makes the world seem less evil. The fact is there are more people with children that are stressed to the max that don't forget their kids than the ones who use the excuse of being too stressed to remember their kid resulting in their death. It's a cop out and I am tired of people making excuses for bad people or parents. I won't tell anyone how to parent but I will tell someone to actually do their job and parent. I could care less how you teach your kid or how you discipline them because that is your business but when you negate your responsibility to ensure your child is safe I will call you out. I guess you would remember your purse because your money is more important than your child right susan? You are a very confused and misguided person. I feel sorry for you. And I don't want or need your sympathy for my loss. It is an insult that you feel the same for me as you do these negligent parents.

All the people defending this father are making a huge assumption. NO INTENT. How do you knowRead More that? The investigation is not done yet as far as I know. I imagine that in these cases it would be hard to prove though. The police I imagine are checking his cell phone, computer etc. There is father on trial right now in Georgia and they have found plenty of evidence that doesn't look good for the father. There is evil in this world. In the Ridgefield case, this father was the one who dropped his kid off EVERY day. It was part of his routine. I guess he drove without looking in his rear view mirror once and seeing his kid back there? Plus, supposedly he went out to lunch. We DONT know if he drove his car during lunch but if he did, things are not going to look so good. See link below on Georgia father. I get innocent until proven guilty. That said I understand the reaction of the outraged parents here. They are reacting with the instincts of a parent going back to the beginning of time to protect your own, especially a defenseless child. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/us-father-on-trial-after-baby-dies-in-hot-car/story-e6frg6so-1226978221164

Guess the rest of L.A. is doing great crime wise. ..or is someone cooking the books..maybe we allRead More should move out of Hollywood, Garcetti's old council district that he has left in an on going violent crime shambles, before we get shot, knifed, or raped, to all these other 'safe' places. Bring on more of his beloved nightclubs, cheap shot bars, density, glass and steel skyscrapers...more more more.. bring in the party buses to Hollywood, the big party place (this is his revitalized 'economic development'), and more drunken shootouts, guaranteed. He has created his west coast version of Times Square, before revitalization.. and without the Broadway Theaters, with the help of the irresponsible C.I.M., BID, and Hollywood Chamber..They are destroying Hollywood..none of them actually live here.. Think of what he can, and will do with the rest of L.A! His crime stats are as 'fatally flawed' as was his false population data to justify his illegal higher density (to accommodate his developer funder's projects), Hollywood Community Plan, that a judge threw out calling his numbers..'fatally flawed' and 'wishful thinking' Why would anyone believe anything he has to say about any data or stats at this point? About anything for that matter.

Glad to see limits (hopefully) being place on high school football. The research shows time andRead More time again the damage being done to the human brain after consistent hits to the head. Minimizing the risk seems like the natural and best thing to do.

People who object to animal cruelty will not attend this circus or any other that uses abused animalRead More acts & calls them entertainment. Taking children to see abused animal acts teaches them it is acceptable human behavior. The only hope to eliminate the use & abuse of tortured animals in the circus is to tell children the truth & teach them that it is wrong. Children naturally love animals & they will understand

They claim on the one hand that the animals are well-treated, then turn around and say that theyRead More won't be able to bring them anymore once the ban on bull hooks, "goads and prods" goes into effect? I have seen the wounds caused by bull hooks from close up- people sitting in the audience can't, but if they were able to, they would feel sorry for the way the poor animals are treated. Many dogs like the mental exercises of training and working with a human, so I don't argue against canine performers, but elephants and tigers?? Come on, I thought we had long ago advanced beyond that nonsense!

Man this really makes me sick. Reading these articles really tells us just how many mentallyRead More challenged, sick, deranged and misled idiots we have in our society. These numb nuts are all about selling out America and opening our borders to every illegal out there. If they had it their way, there would be no borders and the masses would come flooding in. That's never going to happen. I can tell you this, the next presidential election will be heavily focused on this issue and all of you who value this great country should tune in and vote in the right canditate for the job. That would be the one speaking out against illegal immigration and providing a plan to deal with the issues in a timely manner. Democrat or Republican or other. Doesn't matter as long as we elect the key people who will make sealing our borders and removal of these illegal criminals a priority. They really need to start enforcing our laws and deport the masses. I don't know about you but I'm really sick and tired of all of this crap. Oh yeah, by the way, they need to amend the current ridiculous practice of legalizing the offspring of anyone that is not a U.S. citizen who manages to illegal make it to our country and drop a kid. That will also help curb the problem. The Chinese baby mills in Chino Hills and elsewhere will cease to exist if we do that. I really find it hard to believe that this can happen.
