My sincere congratulations to Eric Garcetti on winning the Los Angeles mayoral elections. It was aRead More long hard work to get here. You deserve the chance to reinvigorate Los Angeles to its glory days and an economic recovery that will benefit all Angelenos. Now the work begins, to build team Garcetti and implement a new successful administration with honesty and integrity. YJ Draiman, LA’s primary Mayoral Candidate for LA 2013

@Ajay "Both measures required a 1,000-foot buffer between medical marijuana businesses andRead More schools as well as places of worship." Can you quote your source for this comment? According to the literature for proposition D the number is 600', however I maybe reading an older version of the prop. Can you clear this up? Thank you

Dear Patch People... Why include an article in the Moorpark Patch that has to do with localRead More politics in LA? Why should this take up space in our Patch? Anybody following the elections in LA can turn to the LAT on line or any number of other sources if interested. Just wondering... I prize the local news and the timeleness of the Patch. Forget the stuff that doesn't really impact our community.

All I want is a Mayor who will not march in a parade of illegals. There was nothing more insultingRead More than hearing that your Mayor is celebrating the cause of one of our biggest financial problems...supporting the illegals. The DWP thing bothered me also. They are out of control, so that negative advertising did bother me about her alliance with them. But I really did want Wendy Gruel to win, but didn't really care all that much, as long as they were not hispanic, because we saw what happened with Villairagosa.

I have a picture that PROVES that CHOI ladies are standing in front of voting polls, with theirRead More folders AND CHOI door hangers in clear view. I thought there was a 100 foot clearance to keep electioneering people out of my way??? Criminals do such stupid things!
Nicole Panter May 21, 2013 at 02:40 pm
This could be a picture of ballots on John Choi's bed for all I know. These allegations smell ofRead More desperation.

How in the world does this picture "prove" that there is anything in these envelopes, thatRead More they were illegally obtained, or that a supporter of Mitch O'Farrell's illegally obtained them. I received an email last night making these accusations. No substantiation, just accusations. How predictably political.
CHRISTINE May 10, 2013 at 05:36 pm
Wow....Well said...I have tossed every one of those ideas around and am still amazed he spouts theseRead More untruths....Early on in the campaign he was asked "who asked you to run?"...he couldn't remember. When Mitch was asked the same question, he quickly replied "all of you, here in the various neighborhoods of CD 13". "I love CD 13, and want to contunue living and working here".......Go Mitch...Public Service not Politics! cp

Its is now almost 3 AM and only 20% of the precints in CD3 have reported their votes!!!! (CD 3 isRead More the south/west SF Valley) while most CD's have reported 80-90%!!!! What is the problem??? This seems very strange!

Such censorship on this thread tonight...Just confirms my feelings that candidate who ran theRead More sleaziest campaign and remained without a platform lost the mayor's race tonight....

When it says the Los Angeles Times 'endorses' someone or something does that mean they took a voteRead More of all employees working at the Times or is it just a meaningless blurb by a small coven of inflated corporate propagandists kissing A with the Federal government or some other powerful special interest influence?

Mixville Market courtesy of LAPL
Mark May 20, 2013 at 07:28 am
Oh for god's sake, now that you add a picture of the place you are talking about, it doesn't evenRead More look like the Mixville Market! You just proved you don't know what you are talking about. Didn't you notice all the serious differences, like in the support columns, like in the center piece on the roof, like in the Mixville Market's rooftop having a step-up at each column, even the storefront openings in Mixville Market are double the width between columns as the one you posted and if you count the openings on each, you can tell that Mixville Market was decidedly bigger than the one you posted.
Mark May 18, 2013 at 05:17 pm
Just because you saw a similar looking building someplace else doesn't mean the old Mixville MarketRead More was not actually where everyone else said it was, actually in Mixville. You have presented zero here to justify your assertion. Even the photographer saying it was on Fletcher -- hey, Fletcher is where the current shopping center with Ralph's in it is, at Fletcher and Glendale Boulevard. And maybe that is exactly where the photographer was referring! From what you present, that photographer's location identification is your entire basis -- and if that is all you have to assert Mixville Market was actually in Glassell Park, then you have nothing, and have wrongly jumped to a very dubious conclusion. Perhaps the photographer and the Silver Lake Residents Association were right, and you are wrong. I don't know where Mixville Market was, but there is no way I can accept your wild conclusion on the basis of the likely misinterpreted evidence you present.

Was on the west bank of the river going from Fletcher Drive towards Glendale. Looked to me likeRead More there was no pick up of trash on that side of the river.
