Glad to see limits (hopefully) being place on high school football. The research shows time andRead More time again the damage being done to the human brain after consistent hits to the head. Minimizing the risk seems like the natural and best thing to do.
JMarsh July 10, 2014 at 02:15 pm
I totally agree with limiting the chance of brain trauma. One thing we need to remember is thatRead More junior high and high school students' brains are still developing.

So you have a "neurologist" who says a patient has "Altzheimer's Disease". ARead More disease which is only diagnosed on autopsy. I don't know. Having cared for 2 dementia patients, I can say, eating isn't one of the things they generally like to do. I'll give the benefit of doubt to Mr. Sterling.

Use to like the Dodger until racist Magic Johnson got involved with ownership of the team. I can'tRead More stand that guy! Such a hypocrite!
Laura June 19, 2014 at 04:08 pm
It was a no-hitter - it just wasn't a perfect game. And yes, I agree that this is inexcusable. We'reRead More missing what very well could be Vin Scully's final season. I blame the Dodgers ownership for asking the absurdly high fee that Time Warner was dumb enough to pay. I don't blame the other providers a bit for not going along. The Dodgers obviously don't care about having an audience, as long as they've already got that audience's money.

That "rather dingy-looking cafe in an apparently rundown section of Gotham," is theRead More legendary Katz's Deli on New York's Lower East Side. This is a sickening a white man says the "N" word as they call it and he's incompetentRead More because he doesn't say it using the right inflection but if a black man says it its A ok as long as he uses it properly. You people that buy into this are all MORONS.
George June 15, 2014 at 10:41 pm
Never once in the illegal recording of the private conversation between Mr. Sterling and the paidRead More hooker did he refer to black people as ni__ers. He referred to them as black people which is acceptable. He was upset that the whore he see's regularly wanted to bring her black male friends to his teams games. He didn't like that as the whores attention would be with them and not him. He was ticked naturally! The media made a huge ordeal over nonsense. They made a mountain out of a mole hill because they hate him and have wanted to get back at Mr. Sterling for a long, long time. Magic Johnson, Al Sharpton Oprah Winfrey and the rest sit around and wait for a famous white person to misspeak and pounce. You know darn well they have said worse about white people in private conversations. Such hypocrites!

Owner Sterling should fight this matter all the way to the Supreme Court if possible!!! PublicRead More OPINION doesn't trump the rule of law although State-media in this country has apparently already ruled on the matter. But the Rule of Law states that ILLEGALLY recorded private conversations between two people ARE PRIVATE and not admissible in court unless murder or some other capital crime are involved. The way I see it the NBA can only make recommendations since these private opinions and jealous feelings by Sterling were recorded illegally, taken out of context by an overzealous biased media and an NBA organization hell-bent on a 'racist' witch-hunt and a sale of Sterling's team to prop up the NBA's reputation. Beyond that, America STILL HAS 1st Amendment protections that have not yet been completely dismantled by this Marxist regime in D.C. The 1st Amendment, if we will recall, provides FREEDOM OF SPEECH which means people may strongly disagree with each other's comments, philosophy, on a variety of subjects etc.. This is still America and we still have a Bill of Rights and Constitution which means DUE PROCESS in a courtroom is IN ORDER for Sterling. Further, a $2 billion asset cannot be taken away like candy from a disobedient child because some people with different color skin have their feelings hurt by some insensitive comments.

When you got money to burn, whats a couple Billion for the fun of it. I thought the NBARead More commissioner said that Sterling has damaged the NBA brand. Of course that was B.S., just like this whole racist charade of 'my feelings were hurt' because an old man said something in the privacy of his home, secretly and illegally recorded on this senior citizen who probably borders on dementia. What we have here is a reverse-racism hypocritical shakedown, regardless of the price obtained by a greedy wife, he was still forced to sell. NBA owners especially with mistresses , watch your mouth around someone you eventually will get tired of. NBA Players, a slip of the tongue could swing back and clock you as well. It plain that hatred for white people is amongst you. The 1st and 4th Amendment just took a major hit and our Bill of Right is hanging by a thread. Why because your feelings got hurt. As IF...

It is a bit of a quantum leap to equate a rich celebrity cheating on their wife with some other goodRead More looking female who is either a willing sex partner, or a gold digger looking for a pay day, with a rapist. Rape is usually about revenge, power, anger, payback, etc. Tiger Woods and the others had sex with a lot of other good looking women because they could. Apples and oranges. And just curious Bob the dentist, how are you such an expert on rape? You admit to never having been raped, yet you are so quick to opine that just because somebody finds her story to have some credibility issues, you assume they are chauvinistic, misogynistic, and uneducated? Or have we arrived at the point where any female who makes an allegation should automatically be believed?

Desert Rat....Let me clarify..I am not equating rape with high risk sex...I was only saying thatRead More many men, in the celebrity life and otherwise, will risk everything, their careers, etc., to have sex....be it consensual or non consensual. As far as assuming that the women is telling the truth...I have no idea....without more info it would be presumptuous of me to assume anything...it is true, however, that many many men get away with rape, mostly recently Jameis Winston...the evidence against is hard to refute.....I would guess that very few rapes get reported as a percentage of total rapes...the statistics bare this out...and even fewer rapes, still, are prosecuted...thus, not too much fear of any athlete being sent to jail for rape. Mike Tyson is the only one I can think of though I am sure there must be others....

Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 04:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.
