Without cameras, lights wouldnt help much. Edendale got its start in the movie biz. PublicRead More cameras throughout the neighborhood a century later would cap Edendale's reputation. And surely young filmmakers could then contrive a Reality Edendale Show using hacked footage from those public cameras. I cant wait.

Yes! Councilmember LaBonge's office did a great job finding and installing path lighting on theRead More Armstrong Ave. part of the walking path. Here's hoping that CD4 and/or CD 13 can do the same for the stretch of the path adjacent to the meadow park. Thanks for advocating for this popular community resource!

not SOME KIDS STOLE AN IPOD: 4 men assaulted innocent jogger.

Our car got broken into there about a year ago. It was in broad daylight around noon on a weekdayRead More and they stole a purse that had no money but lots of other important personal belongings. Smash window. Grab valuables. Leave fast. Sucks to hear about these incidents at our dog walking spot which appears lovely & communal & safe. Guess not.

Sorry, to be more specific, Los Feliz Cleaners. :)

I just spoke with the owner and this is def not a scam. This article is confusing and gave me theRead More impression that I had been duped. So I called the actual dry cleaners (whom I use often with great satisfaction) and Patricia assured me that the man who sold me the card was legit and that the card is indeed valid. I hope this article doesn't cause others to question the motives of the associate that sells the cards door to door or the dry cleaners. This is a LEGIT card honored by Los Feliz Dry Cleaners.

@Yes, John thank you. We are hoping with this article to show our support for Patricia and toRead More clarify that her store is not involved with any scam. Neighborhood businesses are the Patch lifeblood, especially family-run ones like Patricia's. AR

This is a night people will still be telling their kids about in 20 years ... those people who wereRead More there, and those who have kids.

this is in reply to Colleen who spelled out that two Beatles have passed on. I think "D"Read More knows all of that, because the world knows all of that. I think she was just saying that if it were possible for The Beatles to tour, they would out do the stones. Yes, the Beatles were together only 10 years. 10 years that impact into today, with no touring and 2 dead. They have sold more records than the Stones who have stayed together ALWAYS attempting to catch up to what the Beatles accomplishment. They were number 2 when the Beatles were together and they remain number 2 with The Beatles not existing. You have to remember, the Stones gave themselves the moniker of "the greatest rock and roll band in the world." Michael Jackson also dubbed himself "king of pop." The Beatles are so royal, they NEVER had to laud themselves. The Beatles sit on both the rock and pop thrones.

Where would music be today without the R-Stones AND the Beatles...It's all good !...Stones areRead More amazing in time. Beatles broke so many barriers to creativity !...yup.

Where did these photos come from -- considering the previous report said the woman attempted to takeRead More a photo with here cell phone but did not manage to get one because he left the scene too quickly. Something bothers me about this photo being posted like this. It doesn't seem right without giving some idea why so certain this is the guy. Since the previous report says the woman didn't get a picture, then who provided this, and why is it thought this really is the guy? That is, how do we know this guy isn't being framed by someone with a grudge against him who dug out an old photo? Also, I note, the location given is wrong, an LACC parking lot at the corner of Vermont and Melrose. There is no parking lot at that corner. What is at that corner isn't even LACC, it is Braille Institute.

I'd like to apologize: it is my two rather gassy Boston Terriers who are responsible for all this.Read More I'd keep them indoors but they've already blown out all the windows. I'd use plugs, but the last one got shot out with such force, it almost killed a neighbor. Maybe it's time to change their brand of dog food. Arf.

I zoomed into the pic, and the suspects van is the one that is in the driveway. The van with theRead More writing on the side is the handymans van.

all cats should be indoors- coyotes are only one of the many dangers they face being outdoors- talkRead More to your local rescues = they all won't adopt to those who let them out- kids torture cats- people sell them to research and they face many abscess and other diseases including many worms and leukemia- its illegal in many cities to let cats out too - it seems cruel but unless they are totally protected and definitely indoors at night - keep them in- they will adjust to it- sorry for their lost lives

Less we lose the context of this sad event, below is an excerpt of the LAPD report that places theRead More event in context. If Dizzy had not run, he would not have been shot. Why did he run? The police will not wait to see "muzzle flashes" under night conditions. They were already primed to suspect an armed man, and his running causes a presumption of guilt (and therefore he was considered to be armed per the call they were responding to). The officers came to the scene to protect us (the public), and responded to the perceived threat to protect themselves. Officer-Involved Shooting in Echo Park NR13094ne Los Angeles: On March 19, 2013, around 12:20 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department, Rampart Area patrol officers responded to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon, “Suspect There Now” radio call. The comments of the call described the suspect as a male Hispanic Echo Park Gang member wearing glasses. The suspect was reported to have brandished a gun and had also fired two shots. When the officers arrived, they initiated contact with the suspect, David Martinez. Officers saw Martinez holding an object which they believed was a pistol. Martinez failed to comply with the officers’ commands to drop the pistol. As Martinez ran from the officers, he turned and raised his arm pointing what the officers believed to be a pistol at them at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred.
