The LAFD Bureau of Fire Prevention and Public Safety is the fire department for the City Of Los Angeles. It is responsible for the prevention of fires, the investigation to the cause of fires, fire safety education and the safe transportation of hazardous material. It is also in charge of upholding all city codes in regards to fire and fire safety regulations. It is headed by a deputy chief fire marshal, and is dedicated to environmental protection.
