Body Found in Griffith Park, LAPD Investigating: A body was found Wednesday in Griffith Park. Police officers and firefighters were sent to the 4700 block of Crystal Springs Drive on a report that a man may have fallen in a remote area.

L.A. City Council Moves Forward With Free Citywide WiFi Plan: The Los Angeles City Council unanimously agreed today to seek out a vendor to provide free wireless Internet service to Angelenos. The council voted 13-0 to start a bidding process to attract companies to set up free WiFi while  ensuring the city does not "significantly influence" private Internet carrier competition.

Helicopter Rescues Injured Hiker in Griffith Park: A fire department helicopter crew rescued a hiker from a steep embankment in Griffith Park. Firefighters sent to the 2700 block of North Vermont Avenue at 8:46 a.m. hoisted the man to safety, said Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The area is east of the Greek Theatre. The man was rescued just a mile and a half away from where another hiker was found dead a day earlier.
