EP's Gobble Gobble Give Backs Up Traffic on Sunset for Blocks

Over 700 volunteers from all around Southern California came to the Echo in Echo Park to donate food and clothing, and to distribute them to the homeless.

Sunset Boulevard was backed up all the way to Park as drivers dropped off and picked up food destined for Southern California's homeless Thursday morning.

They were taking part in the 14th annual Gobble Gobble Give.

See the event website here.

Then Silver-Lake resident Barry Walker started the event 14 years ago, when he cooked and delivered a meal to 9 homeless people on his own.

The event's become a huge Thanksgiving tradition for many.

And Gobble Gobble Give is now an official 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, with a board of mostly small business owners.

Patch was there and talked to folks organizing and attending.

We'll have more after we enjoy our own Thanksgiving meal with family and friends.

So check back at the site.

Meantime, we're so very grateful for your readership and involvement.
