Interview: Neil Schield of Origami Vinyl Sees Echo Park Rising

Schield spoke to Patch about the mission and importance of participating in Saturday's free festival that supports a community of businesses, non-profits and artists in Echo Park.

Patch: What are the highlights of this year's 'Echo Park Rising', as it is the second run?

Neil Schield: This year is quite a bit more organized since we had an extra 4 months to work on it. We have a lot more businesses on board this year which is really exciting. We've added an outdoor main stage of music in the Taix Parking lot, a print fair in the Echoplex that features local artists who create their own books, zines, records, posters, t-shirts, etc, the featured movie on the rooftop of Citibank. It's really incredible seeing it all come together.

Patch: I know you guys sell records. But just up the street, film will be featured on Saturday night. Can you tell us about that?
