Los Angeles Dodgers Launch History Blog

Team historian Mark Langill will be digging deep into team record books to give fans context. Will he tell us a bit about our community too?

Our Los Angeles Dodgers have shown themselves to be pretty web-savvy, cultivating relationships with sports bloggers and other captains of the new media.

Now they're using blogging to dig deep into their own past, with a new "Dodgers History" blog by team historian Mark Langill.

According to the blog's banner it will provide "The Dodger franchise history from both Booklyn [sic] and Los Angeles."

We don't know if the "Booklyn" is a typo--or a quirk of accent or, perhaps, some imaginary intellectual zone we're going to hear more about.

But we're willing to wait and wish the Dodgers well.

Meantime, here's how historian Langill describes his venture:

The goal for this Dodger History blog is to offer a variety of stories, mementos and other artifacts relating to the franchise history. The wins and losses run in cycles, but the memories remain for the fans and players, especially those alumni who were lucky enough to reach the Majors. The modern-day Dodgers wear blinders and can’t worry yet about their place in history.
