LA Marathon from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica Pier Sells Out

More than 25,000 runners entered into the March 9 race.

The Los Angeles Marathon has sold out for the second consecutive year and third time in its 29-year history, organizers announced Wednesday.

A field of more than 25,000 has entered the March 9 race, Marathon Chief Executive Tracey Russell said Wednesday.

The race also sold out in 2010, the first time it was run on the "Stadium to the Sea" course from Dodger Stadium to near the Santa Monica Pier, when registration ended at a  record of 26,054.
