Ice Cube to Throw First Pitch at Dodgers Game

The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Dodgers zip-up hooded sweatshirt.

Rap and hip hop artist Ice Cube will throw the ceremonial first pitch and announce the Los Angeles Dodgers starting line for tonight's sold-out interleague game against the Detroit Tigers at Dodger Stadium.

Antonella Barba, who reached the top 16 of "American Idol" in 2007, will sing the national anthem.

Former Dodger outfielders Lee Lacy and Billy Ashley will sign autographs in the left and right field pavilion plaza areas from 5:10-7:30 p.m.

The Veteran of the Game will be U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Iriz Meza of Baldwin Park, who enlisted in 1999 and completed combat medic training. She now serves with the National Guard at an Army hospital.

Meza's accolades include an Army Commendation Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

All auto and left field, left pavilion and club level gates will open at 5:10 p.m. and the remaining gates at 5:40 p.m. The first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
