Donors to a platelets drive at Children's Hospital Los Angeles through June 12 will be entered into a drawing for two tickets for a possible fifth game of the series, which would be played June 13 at Staples Center.

An appointment is required and can be made by calling (323) 361-2441 or by email at blooddonorcenter@chla.usc.edu.

The requirements for donating platelets are the same as for donating blood. People who have taken aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, in the previous 48 hours are not allowed to donate platelets.

Platelets are the cells in the blood that help to form clotting and avoid excessive bleeding. Patients receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatment and those who have had a bone marrow transplant have especially low platelet counts and can easily lose blood. Platelet donations are in high demand for children undergoing these treatments.

The Kings advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the third time in team history and second time in three seasons Sunday with a 5-4 overtime victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 7 of the Western Conference Final at Chicago.
