Our local LAUSD elementary schools have been feeling the pinch.
And many are mobilizing to raise extra resources.
We'll see two examples of that this weekend.
Silver Lake's Ivanhoe Elementary will host a "Fabulous Multi Designer Sample Sale" on the school campus.
Vendors Include Trina Turk, Cynthia Vincent, Gamine, Tarina Tarantino, The Mini Social, Charlotte Tarantola, Megan Fales, Fleur't, My Tote, Julie Park, The Grumpy Princess, Cameo, Life is Rosey, Sheila, Mo Wear, Blu Pony, GreenGift, Chester and Company.
More are being added daily.
Hours are: Friday, Nov. 30, 1-4 p.m.;Saturday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Meantime, on Saturday, the Elysian Heights Elementary School will enjoy the continuing largesse of the folks at the Echo.
The club will host a "Loteria Social and Auction" on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 2-5 p.m.
According to the Friends of Elysian Heights Elementary School Facebook page:
We will play Loteria (Mexican Bingo) , enjoying signature cocktails by VeeV VitaFrute, and the kids will get to see a movie (ELF starring Will Ferrell). Proceeds go to funding our library and to hire a library aide!

Ivanhoe Elementary School is located at 2828 Herkimer St., just off Rowena Avenue in Silver Lake.
The Echo is located at 1822 Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park.
